On October 2, fans were promised a surprise at the Dark Horse Comics' booth at the New York Comic Con 2019 on October 5 if they were dressed up as an Umbrella Academy character. And the surprise was none other than Justin H. Min and Robert Sheehan AKA Ben and Klaus!

 

Let's rewind.

 

First of all, check out The Umbrella Academy's tweet below:

I "If you’re dressed in your Umbrella Academy best at @ny_comic_con, head to the @darkhorsecomics booth for access to a special surprise 👀"

​

 

Those who did just that, were in for the surprise of a lifetime. They just didn't know it, yet.

 

Meanwhile, The Umbrella Academy kept teasing the surprise, with multiple Instagram stories showing Hazel and Cha Cha's iconic masks.

 

Finally, the time came for the surprise, and inside a vehicle outside the New York Comic Con, The Umbrella Academy's Justin H. Min (Ben Hargreeves/Number Six) and Robert Sheehan (Klaus Hargreeves/Number Three) were busy preparing to sneak inside.

 

After the event, Justin uploaded a hilarious clip on Instagram of Robert and himself putting on Hazel and Cha Cha's masks as a disguise.

In the clip, Justin jokingly asks this as he hesitantly pulls on his Cha Cha mask:

I "Can you see in these? I'm afraid of the dark."

​

​

Of course, when they finished putting the masks on, they both took a quiet, blissful moment to look at each other. To which Robert then shatters by whacking Justin on the top of his head, saying:

I "I think yours is so much bigger than mine!"

​

​

Anyway, fast forward to the booth where fans were excitedly whooping their greetings at the disguised Justin and Robert who were still in their Hazel and Cha Cha masks.

​

And when Robert and Justin finally take off their masks, fans went wild. The Umbrella Academy's official Instagram posted their reveals here and Netflix posted more here.

The Umbrella Academy season 2 is expected to premiere after spring 2020 at the earliest. Gerard Way (creator) has also recently revealed that he’s working on a fourth volume of The Umbrella Academy comic book series.
