The Umbrella Academy has just announced that new cast members will be joining The Umbrella Academy season 2 and fans are beyond excited.

Specifically, there will be 3 notable new members joining the cast of The Umbrella Academy season 2.

First up, there’s Ritu Arya:

 

Age: Unknown

Best Known For: Flash on Humans (2016-2018)

​

I “Yessss finally I can speak about ittt. Season 2 gonna be maaaddddd” - Ritu Arya

Who is her character?

 

Ritu will be playing Lila, and her character’s description is:

☔︎ A chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires.

☔︎ Unpredictable, mischievous, sarcastic.

☔︎ Twisted sense of humor.

What could this mean for her character?

​

Basically, she's very likely one of the 43 children born on the same day as the Hargreeves' siblings. Why? Well, because the word “chameleon” was used to describe her and we have a feeling it was used on purpose. That is, to hint that she has a supernatural ability.

 

...Maybe she can blend into her surroundings like a chameleon?

Next up, there’s Yusuf Gatewood:

Best Known For: Vincent Griffith / Finn Mikaelson in The CW's The Originals (2014-2018)

Who is his character?

 

Yusuf will be playing Raymond, and his character's description is:

☔︎ Has the smarts, gravitas, and confidence to never have to prove it to anyone.

☔︎ Has the innate ability to disarm you with a look.

What could this mean for his character?

 

Huh. We’re looking at the phrase “disarm you with a look”. Again, it sounds as if he could have been one of the 43 children born with abilities, and we think his ability could involve his 'gaze'.

Can you think of any superpowers that involves just a 'look'?

And last but not least, there’s Marin Ireland:

 

Age: 40

Best Known For: Julia Bowman in Amazon Prime's Sneaky Pete (2015-2019)

Marin will be playing Sissy, and her character's description is:

What could this mean for her character?

 

Uh, unfortunately, nothing in the description really points to any supernatural abilities. So, Sissy could just be a regular human caught up in the Hargreeves' mess. And the phrase "rediscover what life and love has to offer"?

Clearly, she's going to be a love interest for one of the Hargreeves’ siblings.

​

Probably.

So, what are fans' first reactions to The Umbrella Academy's new season 2 characters?

​

Well, fans are actually already looking forward to Ritu's character AKA Lila. They're saying that she sounds pretty much like a female version of Klaus. In fact, some are already imagining the two characters getting on amazingly well.

​

Oh, and not to mention that fans are also gushing over Yusuf’s character, pointing out that his fantastic acting skills in The Originals will be something to look forward to.

​

All three castmates are relatively unknown with both Marin and Ritu having less than 6,000 followers on Twitter and Yusuf with less than 54,000.

​

Until then, The Umbrella Academy season 2 is currently filming and is expected to premiere after spring 2020 at the earliest. Gerard Way has also recently revealed that he’s working on a fourth volume of The Umbrella Academy comic book series.
