Umbrella Academy's Ellen Page Asks Fans To Sign A Petition For A Community Well

Today, on October 13, The Umbrella Academy's Ellen Page (Vanya Hargreeves) is asking residents of Shelburne County to help sign a petition to ensure a community well is built in the South End of Shelburne.
On Twitter and Instagram, Ellen posts this:
I “Please sign this petition and contact the politicians in Shelburne, Nova Scotia to make sure a community well goes in the South End of Shelburne. An African Nova Scotian community that does not have clean water and hasn’t for decades. Info below.”
Ellen then includes a link to a Change.org petition that was created just 13 hours ago and which has already gained 855 signatures out of the 1000 the petition is asking for.
Ellen is also asking these residents to contact the town council in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, to let them know about their support for the community well. Contact details have been included in the petition and Ellen's Instagram post.
What is the community well for?
In the past few years, droughts have plagued Shelburne County, and this has left many of the residents having to make do without clean and safe drinking water.
As a result, Ellen has offered to provide the funds needed to build a community well that "will be accessible to all residents of Shelburne County".
However, one of the conditions set by the Town of Shelburne before they would consider the offer is for the confidence that the residents will use the well. This can be fulfilled if residents sign the petition, and comment saying how many people in their household will be using the well.
Fellow The Umbrella Academy co-star, Aidan Gallagher (Number Five) is also helping to raise awareness of this issue by reposting Ellen's post on his Instagram Story.
As of now, Ellen Page is urging residents to spread the word.
The Umbrella Academy season 2 is expected to premiere after spring 2020 at the earliest. Gerard Way (creator) has also recently revealed that he’s working on a fourth volume of The Umbrella Academy comic book series.
