On January 11, Tate McRae released an original song titled "dear parents" on YouTube, and it's arguably one of the most relatable song out there for teenagers.

Who is Tate McRae?

Tate McRae is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter with over 1.97 million subscribers on her official YouTube channel. She's written several songs, all of which are available to stream on the channel.

However, one of Tate's songs stands out, and it's titled, "dear parents".

For every teenager or kid who has parents who just don't seem to understand them, the lyrics in this song will most likely resonate with them.

Check out some of the lyrics below:

I "stressed out, but it's always fine, they be asking but she can't describe,"

"hate that you've been sayin' I'm dramatic,"

"oh, we know more than what we tell you,"

"but can't always put it into words,"

"and we don't cry because we want to,"

"but you'll assume it's because she's another 16-year-old girl,"

Tate's fans are definitely relating to the lyrics, and most of them are describing similar problems in Tate's YouTube comment section:

"parents: “it’s that damn phone!” little do they know that phone helps me through so much. music, friends, videos to make me laugh, etc."

"Stop crying. That's nothing to cry about!" "You always cry for no reason!" - I don't cry for no reason. I can't describe the reasons I cry for. You won't believe me if I say I have anxiety! I may be young, but that doesn't mean I can't have feelings and problems."

"dear parents" currently has over a staggering 10.9 million views.

So, what exactly is Tate McRae up to now?

Tate McRae's latest original song "stupid" is out now. On December 5, Tate released an official music video for the song which currently has over 1.3 million views.

Fans are comparing her to American singer and songwriter, Billie Eilish, and it's clear that Tate's music career is quickly taking off. Her upcoming shows between January and February in 2020 in LA, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, Berlin, Amsterdam and London have all completely sold out.
