On January 3, Ashly Schwan revealed that an Instagram post of herself and Tana Mongeau had recently been taken down by Instagram as the picture was "against their community guidelines".
Basically, it's a picture of Tana and Ashly both dressed up as Kylie and Kendall's iconic Met Gala look in 2019, i.e. the purple and orange feathered gowns. However, the difference was that Tana and Ashly's version was more of a bikini.
Fans can check out Tana and Ashly's version here. The original post was first uploaded on Instagram on November 7, 2019.
However, fast forward to January 3 and Ashly is tweeting out a screenshot of the "removed" Instagram post and questioning its removal below:
I "hey @instagram why are you deleting my cute halloween photos with my bestie?? i would say we look respectful & cute?? 😭"
Tana retweeted this on the same day.
So, why was Tana and Ashly's post removed from Instagram?
According to Instagram, they removed the post because it went against their community guidelines.
Check out their full explanation below:
I "We removed your post because it goes against our Community Guidelines. Even if you didn't mean to offend, our guidelines encourage people to express themselves in a way that's respectful to everyone."
What were fans' reactions to Instagram's removal of the picture?
Fans quickly defended Tana and Ashly's Instagram picture, saying that they saw "nothing wrong" with it. A lot of fans also pointed out that not only does Kylie Jenner have pictures of herself in lingerie, but she's also posing in them on a bed.
One annoyed fan tweets:
I "Yet Kylie can keep her pic where she is practically naked oKaY."
Others also brought up several other instances where other celebrities' posts were much more "provocative" than Tana's, and yet, they hadn't been taken down by Instagram.
