In an Instagram post by MSYFAO, Tana explained that there was a time in her life where a friend checking in with her was the only thing that would keep her going for another day.
I "MSYFAO came around during a time of my life that wasn’t the lightest.. truly a time where a friend checking in on me would keep me going another day. It ignited a fire in me to be that friend for others."
She continued to say that the movement is "so much bigger" to her than a hoodie and that she hopes to "inspire" others to check in with friends, and making sure that they're okay.
What is The Trevor Project?
Basically, The Trevor Project provides "crisis intervention and suicide prevention services" to the LGBTQ+ community who are under 25.
YouTuber James Charles had previously donated 50% of proceeds from his Sisters Apparel Pride Collection. However, fans had previously slammed James during a Pride Parade for posing in front of a Trevor Project banner.
What is MSYFAO? (Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay)
MSYFAO was created by Justin and Hunter Moreno, who, after watching a dramatic event occurring on a TV reality show, wondered "where are their friends, and why aren’t they helping?"
MSYFAO's vision is for a world where "meaningful conversation is the new normal", and they aim to achieve this through merch and social media to "get the world talking."
