On January 16, Tana Mongeau tweeted out to fans that people don't exactly recognize her when she's out in public. However, Tana poked fun at the situation, admitting that she used too much "facetune" on her pictures.

For those who don't know, Tana is well-known for "face tuning" her Instagram photos. Facetune is an app that allows users to edit, enhance and retouch photos.

How did fans react?

Several fans responded to Tana's tweet, saying that she didn't have to "facetune" because she was already beautiful the way she is, and advised her to use the app less.

Other fans also pointed out that they see Tana without "facetune" anyway, through her YouTube videos and Instagram stories.

Tana had faced controversy in the past for overusing "Facetune".

Back in November 2019, Tana received backlash when she posted a photo of her at the E! People's Choice awards. She had "facetuned" herself to the point where she looked like a completely different person.

Fans were quick to slam the picture, with one fan saying, "This ain’t even u lmaooo" and another saying, "Literally who even is this."
