On October 17, Stranger Things' official writers tweeted out a cryptic clue on what Stranger Things season 4 might entail. Fans gave guesses... And Stranger Writers responded.
Let's rewind.
First of all, Stranger Writers tweeted out this cryptic dialogue clue:
I "so I heard about something that’s coming and... anyway I think you’ll --- sorry I couldn’t get it done--- but you mean so --- and it’s been --- hope this is --- last until --- love---
The Stranger Things' writers also included a screenshot attached to the tweet, which said: "November 6th, 1983. Hawkins, Indiana".
Of course, fans went wild, trying to fill in the blanks. They guessed anything and everything, from 'Byler' (Will Byers and Mike Wheeler's pairing), Hopper being alive, or even Billy himself having survived and is now trapped in the Upside Down.
Finally, the Stranger Things' writers decided to give fans more hints.
That is, by process of elimination.
Check out what the Stranger Things' writers tweeted out next:
I “this is… not about a couple.”
I “it is ...not about hopper”
So, unfortunately, all those fans who are excitedly guessing that it's 'Byler', are wrong. But still, it didn't stop fans from hoping. That is, until one particular fan tweeted out stating that it was definitely about Mike Wheeler and Will Byer...
To which Stranger Writers responded with a firm "no".
And what's this about more hints?
Basically, Stranger Things’ writers announced last week that they'll be introducing “Video Store Fridays”. This means that every Friday, they will be tweeting out 5 movies that the Stranger Things writers discussed during the week and each movie listed are related in some way to Stranger Things season 4.
Last week on October 11, it was:
The Peanut Butter Solution (1985)
The Fisher King (1991)
Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991)
You’ve Got Mail (1998)
Ordinary People (1980)
And now, today, on October 18, it's:
Hellraiser 2 (1988)
Billy Madison (1995)
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Black Swan (2010)
Stranger Things season 4 is expected to start shooting early next year in January 2020.
