On October 6, Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard attended the Addams Family world premiere at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles. But there was one thing the fans were focused on. That is, his hair.
Yep.
Finn has been growing out his hair, with it now reaching past his shoulders, and fans are having mixed reactions. Some are loving it while others are completely hating the new look.
Fans are even comparing Finn to Joan Jett, an American rock singer (best known for being a founding member of the band, The Runaways).
Check out this fan's tweet of a side by side comparison here.
Anyway, Finn quickly became aware of the comparison, and brought it up in a tweet:
I "Shout out to the guy who called me Joan Jett at the Addams Family premiere today. @nickkroll and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Genuinely good joke."
Some fans believed that this tweet revealed that Finn was actually a little irritated with the whole thing.
Perhaps it didn't help that The Addams Family also jokingly tweeted about wanting to cut his hair:
I "@FinnSkata *Thing is dying to give you a haircut. Don’t reply to this tweet and we’ll consider it a yes! - The Addams Family
*Thing is the disembodied hand that acts as a “handservant” for the Addams family.
However, Nick Kroll, Uncle Fester’s voice for The Addams Family, saw the humour in it, as he jokingly responded to Finn’s tweet with:
I "To be fair, you were screaming “I love rock n roll!” as we walked through the theater."
On the other hand, fellow The Addams Family co-star, Elsie Fisher who voices Parker Needler, spoke out in defence for Finn, asking people to stop “bullying Finn about his hair”.
I "Stop bullying finn about his hair! It’s his cool indie rock mullet. let him live."
She received immediate backlash for the tweet, and soon responded with this:
I "its my moral obligation as a teen to stand up for other teens."
Even Stranger Things co-star, Randy Havens (Mr Clarke) got wind of the situation and commented with this:
I "WHO IS BULLYING FINN I'LL FIGHT THEM."
I "Excuse my language but those people are some real stinkers."
Ghostbusters (2020) hits US theatres on July 10, 2020, and Stranger Things season 4 is expected to start shooting early next year in January 2020.
