Actress Olivia Rodrigo at the World premiere of Disney's 'Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil' held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, USA on September 30, 2019.
On January 31, the female cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' reunited for an Instagram Live, and spoke about Olivia's "upcoming album", It (2017), Vine, Yik Yak, and more!
Let's rewind.
During the Instagram Live, Olivia Rodrigo (Nini), Sofia Wylie (Gina), Julia Lester (Ashlyn) and Dara Reneé (Kourtney) answered questions from fans, and the question of albums popped up.
Olivia has been writing a lot of her own original songs, most notably, "All I want" which was featured in the fourth episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Fans, of course, are now demanding an album from Olivia.
Fun fact: "All I want" then went on to reach #98 on Billboard Chart's #Hot100 entries on January 14.
I "[reads fan's comment] 'You need an album Olivia.' We do need an album, Olivia!" Sofia says to Olivia.
I "I'm working on it!" Olivia responds.
Sofia immediately stated that she would be the first person to buy it, while Julia and Dara would be the second and third person. Dara even joked that she would clear out the shelves!
Next, fans asked the cast who the "strongest wildcat" was. The cast soon agreed that in terms of strength, it would be either be Matt Cornett (E.J.) or Joshua Bassett (Ricky), but in terms of "confidence", it would either be Dara or Frankie.
Now here's where they start to reminisce about Vine. Julia revealed that she was a "Vine girl", and that her freshman and sophomore years were filled with "Vine energy". It didn't stop there as Dara and Julia started talking about Yik Yak! Unfortunately, though, 16-year-olds Sofia and Olivia were too young to remember it.
I "Oh, shoot. OK, wait, hold on. Do you guys not know what 'Yik Yak' is?" Julia asks.
Finally, the conversation turned towards horror movies, and the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series revealed that they had watched It (2017). And their reactions? Olivia gushed that Finn Wolfhard (Richie Tozier) and Jack Dylan Grazer were "just so funny", to which Sofia responded that "they killed it in that".
Fun Fact: The Instagram Live started off to a rocky start as they had to switch from Olivia's livestream to Sofia's when she hilariously revealed that she had only 5 minutes remaining for social media use. (Olivia's referring to the parental controls on her cellphone).
I "I need to get my parental controls taken care of", Olivia stated before laughing and saying, "That's so lame!"
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' season 2 has officially begun their table read. The season will centre around a Beauty and the Beast musical production.
