Disney Channel's Jessie star, Skai Jackson, claps back at a troll who tweeted out a disrespectful joke concerning recently deceased Jessie's co-star, Cameron Boyce.
Skai was just minding her own business and tweeting out her happiness at the fact that the "Emmys 2019: The In Memoriam Segment" honoured Cameron by naming him in their tribute when a troll decided it was okay to make a death joke.
Yep.
First of all, check out Skai's tweet on September 23 below:
I “I’m so happy the Emmy’s put Cameron is the Memoriam. But he couldn’t be up there… Gone way too soon.. missing him so much.”
And this was the troll's response:
I “I wanna make a dead person joke but I'm gonna use my self control to let everyone grieve in peace. ily guys. Free Cameron.”
Of course, Skai didn't let this stand, and angrily tweeted back with:
I “Wanna get smacked ?”
Many fans rushed to take Skai's side, and they were all equally as angry at the disrespectful troll comment, calling it “sick” and the user, “attention-seeking”.
Check out some of these angry fans' tweets below:
I "Yo wtf, That's not even funny, he’s just sick."
I "The audacity of some people to even mention something so immature and disrespectful.."
I "People can be so disrespectful for some attention."
Unfortunately, though, this wasn't the first time Skai had to shut down similar trolls related to Cameron's death.
Skai took to Instagram previously to slam those who used Cameron's death as a way to get "clout".
And then again when Skai received hate after posting videos and pictures of Cameron continuously on her Instagram page.
It didn't even stop there as Skai also received backlash for apparently being "happy" and "not in tears". Skai even had to defend herself on Instagram Live.
Despite all this, Skai refuses to let it get to her, and she's adamant on keeping Cameron's memories alive on her social media.
And fans love her for that.
Skai's book, Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback can now be pre-ordered for its release on October 1.
