On December 23, Shane Dawson spoke up about the late shipping issues, explaining that he wasn't aware that a lot of fans hadn't yet received the orders they placed on Black Friday.
Shane uploaded a series of Instagram Stories that lasted around 7 minutes where he repeatedly apologized for the situation and told fans how "devastated" he was.
I "I am so so sorry. I am literally so sick to my stomach right now."
Shane revealed to fans that he hadn't been aware of the shipping issues since he hadn't been logging into Twitter recently due to the anxiety it gives him.
I "And I hadn't looked in a while, and I looked today, and I was devastated, heartbroken. I was DMing a bunch of people being, like, I’m sorry, let me fix it."
I "If you haven’t gotten a Christmas sweater yet I’m gonna figure a way to make it up to you. I am so sorry. No excuse I’m sorry."
I "I’m upset too. I feel like f***. I didn’t know it was going to take this long.
Shane then continued to explain that he'd been on the phone all day, learning about what had been going on. He admitted to fans that he'd learnt so much about "quality and pricing and how to make things that are still affordable," but hadn't fully understood the shipping and the "back end stuff".
He also promised fans that he'll never sell merch again without fully understanding shipping and being able to explain to fans exactly when things are being shipped.
I "I never will sell merch ever again if I don’t fully understand the shipping and if it isn't fully perfect.
I "I’m going to learn so much about it, and when I launch something again I’m gonna literally go and explain to you guys like when it’s being sh1ipped, how long it’s going to take, fully go into all of it ..."
The next day, Mark Bubb from Killer Merch released a statement about the situation.
