The cast of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo sat down with Today, and boy was this interview the most cringe-worthy one yet.
And it wasn't even the young cast's fault.
The interview was littered with a ridiculous amount of mistakes on the interviewers' side, and they actually came across a little more than rude!
Eventually, in the end, it reached the point where Millie and Finn became visually annoyed and were totally over the entire interview.
Yes.
So what happened?!
First of all, there were four interviewers. And it actually started off immediately on the wrong foot as one of them started listing the cast’s names, because when he got to Gaten's, he called him 'Gaten ‘Matara-ro-' and Noah as 'Noah Schnupp'.
And what did the cast do?!
Luckily for the interviewers, the Stranger Things cast laughed it away good-naturedly, but there was still an awkward feeling floating in the air.
Not long into it, another interviewer proceeded to call them ‘kids’. First of all, all of their age ranges between 14-17. So when another interviewer asked if it was okay to call them 'kids', we're not entirely sure how the cast could've responded.
Again, the cast reacted well. Amidst laughter, Millie casually responds with, ‘We’re teens’.
Good on you, Millie!
But then, out pops the oddest question ever.
Q: This season is darker than it has been. Would you say because you guys are getting older, you can kinda take it in a darker direction?
Er, we're not quite sure what they were looking for with this question. I mean, there are plenty of young actors who were definitely a lot younger than them when they were cast in horror films.
Uh, McKenna Grace in Annabelle Comes Home and Madison Wolfe in The Conjuring 2, anyone?
So, of course there was an awkward pause, and the cast all looked a bit confused. Eventually, Caleb answered with:
“I wouldn't say that was their intention.” I think it just happened. I feel like that season needed to go that way no matter what."
Meanwhile, what was Noah doing? Apparently, answering a question directed to him by an interviewer when another one interrupted him by suddenly asking Caleb a question.
Oof. What a mess. By the way, we counted. Noah actually got interrupted twice during the interview, and even Gaten was interrupted at one point.
Dear lord.
And things took a turn for the worse when some of the interviewers came across as rude.
Here's what happened:
As the interviewers showed a still from the show with Steve and Dustin together, Gaten innocently commented that he'd never seen that still before and that it looked awesome.
To which one of the interviewers responded:
“It’s almost like you didn’t work on the show. It’s almost like they CG’d you in.”
And that's not all.
It gets even cringier when they played a fun fact lightning round because when it finally got round to Millie's turn, she said she was born on the cusp of Pisces and Aquarius.
To which an interviewer shot back:
“That's not really so much a fun fact."
Yep. There's really no way we can make this up. At this point, Millie is clearly annoyed. She responded:
“It’s such a fun fact! Are you kidding me?
To save the sinking ship, perhaps, another interviewer tried to butt in:
"Which do you relate with?”
It doesn't matter what the interviewer was trying to do. Because by now, Millie was completely and utterly over this cringe-worthy interview.
"I don’t know if I really ever read into that. I know that I was born - I don’t know like - OK, bye. *waves her hand* I’m done."
And suddenly, it's Gaten's turn. Well, check out the transcript from below:
Gaten: My main goal in life is to have a service meerkat. I want to get one and snuggle it and feed it like grapes and stuff.
Interviewer: OK that’s a little disturbing
Finn: "I don't understand what's disturbing about that, but whatever."
Yep. It seems like Finn's over this interview too.

goodness i can't stand under prepared interviewers, like your whole job is to ask the right questions. it's not that hard, yet they can't even pronounce Gaten's last name. yeah it was laughed off but it's unprofessional af.
I'm cringing so hard them interviewers don't know anything and the way they cut the cast off Jesus
