Stranger Things' official Twitter actually responded?! It looks like fans might get what they want... Could Dustin, Steve and Maya be the next iconic trio?

After binge-watching the entire Stranger Things season 3, masses of fans flocked to Twitter to shout out their support for their new favourite team: the Scoop Troops.

Before this amazing season, fans actually fell in love with Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) as the iconic duo. In this season, though, there's a newcomer.

Maya Hawke AKA Robin was thrown into the mix...

...And the trio was complete.

Fans loved the chemistry between the three of them and Robin slid into the Scoop Troops' team so naturally it seemed like she was always meant to be there.

Fans are even calling for the Duffer brothers to make a spin-off series of the team where they solve mysteries together.

After all, they did crack an encrypted Russian code, got captured and tortured, and fought their way out of a maximum-security base.

They're clearly made for solving mysteries. Who else agrees? Check out this tweet:

This tweet actually received so much support that it was even brought to Stranger Things attention! They tweeted this out as a response:

And of course, the fans' reactions came.

And fans are really hoping that the Duffer brothers are considering it. After all, there's clearly an audience for it, right?

Overall, it does seem like a low-risk venture. Fans are demanding it, so there's a market for this spin-off.

It also won't be as much of a hefty investment compared to the main Stranger Things series. After all, with the exception of Gaten, the salaries for the cast members will be less than the original cast of Stranger Things.

Maya is a newcomer to the series, and Joe and Priya Ferguson (Lucas' sister, Erica) is receiving a lower salary bracket than the rest of the main cast.

Another regular could also include Dustin's girlfriend, Suzie, (Gabriella Pizzolo) who didn't get to see all that much in the season. When she was on the last episode, she stole the scene with her and Dustin's rendition of 'The NeverEnding Story'.

So maybe she could have a place in the new spin-off series?

If this came to fruition, it wouldn't be the first time Stranger Things have branched out from the main series.

They've released books such as Stranger Things: Runaway Max, Stranger Things: Darkness on the Edge of Town and Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds as well as a graphic novel titled, Stranger Things: The Other Side.

These books focused on the lives of Max, Hopper and Eleven's mother with the graphic novel detailing Will's experience in the Upside Down.

And if the spin-off series does happen, it would be a great filler in between waiting for season 4. After all, although season 3 has just literally aired, many are already clamouring for a season 4.

Other spin-offs from other productions have also been successful. Examples include The Originals, a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries which already has 5 successful seasons.

Young Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory has also been confirmed for a season 4.

Perhaps Stranger Things will follow this route.

But in the meantime, we can occupy ourselves by watching the behind the scene footage of Joe and Maya rehearsing their lines, courtesy of fellow Stranger Things co-star, Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) via Instagram.
