James Charles CONTROVERSY At Pride Parade

Oof. A Pride Parade is supposed to be a day of celebration, right? Nope. Some fans weren't happy to see him there at all.

On June 30, James Charles, a popular beauty YouTuber with over 15 million subscribers, went on his first-ever Pride Parade march.

Check out James' tweet below:

It's great to see him out in such a public event ever since the Tati Westbrook drama. And it's even for a super positive thing!

So, a pretty good day for him, right?

Nope.

James Charles is being called out, with some of the public clearly rolling their eyes and saying it's all just a publicity stunt.

According to them, everything was wrong, and they took issue even with the way James was dressed, saying that it was 'over the top'.

Looks like some fans felt that he was more concerned on getting a positive press than actually marching at the Pride Parade.

And then came the picture with the 'Trevor Project' banner.

Yep. So there was this picture of James Charles that people picked up on, and boy were they not happy about it.

Basically, the controversial picture is of James posing in front of people holding a banner that had 'The Trevor Project' name across it.

For those who don't know, Trevor Project is a national organisation that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to the LGTBQ+ community. They also have a 24/7 helpline and their slogan is 'Saving Young LGBTQ lives'.

Essentially, an amazing project.

But unfortunately, the way James posed purposefully in front of it caused some people to claim that he made the whole thing about himself, rather than about the Pride Parade and the LGBTQ+ community.

But at least not everyone was hating on James. Because a lot of his fans were still supporting him.

These fans were extremely happy to see that he was at the event.

Check out their tweets:

But unfortunately, this wasn't the end to the controversial day.

...Because then James tweeted again, and the controversy was back. But on a totally different subject.

Oof.

For everyone who've followed the Tati Westbrook drama, you'll probably be thinking along the lines of everyone else.

Basically, the whole 'preying on straight males' accusation.

So, while there were fans who wished him luck on this outing, the majority started to think that James was back to his old cycle.

Of course, let it be said that the post does refer to the person as a 'friend'. And it does seem to suggest that it was said friend who wanted to go out on this outing with James in the first place and not the other way round.

So, do you think the public is being too harsh on James? Or do you think it's James who just can't seem to make a move without stirring up some type of controversy?

Or maybe you agree with this fan, who summed it up perfectly with this simple tweet:
