Disney's Lion King live-action hit US and UK theatres on July 9 and July 19, respectively, and fans aren't holding back on their thoughts. Forget the Lion King's storyline, because fans are focusing on Beyoncé's voice acting skills. And according to them, it just didn't make the cut.

Yep. Let's rewind.

When critics first saw the Disney's Lion King live-action through an early release, a few of them declared outright that it didn't quite capture the glory of the animation. The rest...

Well, the measly 55% score on Rotten Tomatoes says it all.

And when fans saw this, they were definitely anxious. Check out what worried fans said in response to those critics' harsh reviews here.

So when Lion King finally hit the cinemas, fans rushed in hoards to watch it so they could judge it for themselves. And what did they do when they finished watching the film?

Of course, take to Twitter to voice their thoughts.

#LionKing started trending on Twitter, and it was clear that so many of us felt nostalgic with Disney's Lion King, with many comparing their reaction to watching it this time round versus when they saw it as kids.

However, tweets about Beyoncé's voice acting skills as Nala started to roll in.

And let's just say they're less than stellar:

On the other hand, other fans came to Beyoncé's rescue and outright accused anyone who criticised her acting skills as "haters".

Check out their tweets below:

Unfortunately, though, it looks like the majority agree that there's room in Beyoncé's voice acting skills for improvement.

So overall, after seeing Disney's Lion King, has there been any improvement over the Rotten Tomato's scores?

The critics initially gave an average score of 55% on Rotten Tomatoes. But after the Lion King's release, it definitely looks like we're seeing a different story with the fans. With over 18,500 ratings coming in, the average score for the audience score is at 89%.

Apparently fans and critics have a different criteria for what makes a film entertaining!

Not only that, but the live-action is even doing well in the numbers. According to Forbes, Disney's Lion King live-action brought in an estimated jaw-dropping $185 million in its opening weekend, and according to BoxOffice, $433 million global.

Looks like the critics' score didn't affect the final success of the film.
