Uh… why? Well, because it’s not one of Finn’s usual tweets. Like, at all. Check out what he tweeted, and you'll see why.

So, Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard has just tweeted, and his fans are having a major fit over it. Why?

Well, because it's not one of his usual tweets.

Check out what he tweeted:

Here's a quick gist of the 'Pathway To Hope' system: To intervene in addictions or mental health problems such as depression before it quickly gets out of control. The plan gets that mental health treatments are expensive, so the government is planning $10 million in grants to aid families.

Amazing, right?

So why the huge reaction to Finn's tweet?

Well, because it's a bit unusual for Finn to tweet about these sort of issues. Finn's Twitter followers will know that for the longest of time, Finn has steered clear away from posting anything remotely political or tweeting about heavy issues like the ones in this tweet.

His usual tweets are often hilarious snippets of his life or his amusing little inner thoughts (which we always love to hear about, so keep 'em posting!)

Check those ones out below:

Of course, when we compare them to other celebrities like Riverdale’s star, Lili Reinhart who retweeted the Sudan crisis and spoke out about the America's legal system regarding the recent shootings, we can see how Finn's tweets come across as more light-hearted. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Though we understand why he does it.

Unfortunately, there's a valid reason to stay away from tweeting about heavy issues. And what's that reason?

Well, the negative effects that often come attached with it.

Still confused? Here it is in a nutshell: Many fans follow their favourite celebrities on social media platforms to see what they’re up to. But. And there's a very big 'BUT'.

...Most fans are only interested if the celebrities are talking about themselves. In other words, fans tend to get a little annoyed if celebrities start to tweet about 'things they frankly don't want to hear about'.

Mhmm. And that, unfortunately, includes tweets that are trying to spread awareness for a good cause.

Want a classic example? Look no further. Just think about Umbrella Academy’s Aidan Gallagher AKA Number Five who constantly receives major backlash for his tweets that speaks out about the world's environmental issues. Yep. And fans even call these tweets 'spam'.

And get this: He's even lost thousands of followers as a result.

So... what's happening with Finn's tweet?

Well, it looks like Finn's receiving the opposite treatment. Check out what his Twitter fans are saying:

Phew! Who else is relieved?

It's amazing that Finn's fans are looking at this in such a bright and positive way. And considering Finn's massive Twitter following of 1.95 million, it's actually great that he's using his social media platform to spread awareness about the issues he cares about.

And it does look like this might be a trend for Finn. Just two weeks ago, he called for a change in the age restrictions for live music shows. It looks like Finn's trying his hand in changing things for the better!

Well, we love this new Finn, and who else hopes we'll see more tweets like this in the future?

In the meantime though, don't forget to check out Stranger Things season 3 when it hits Netflix on 4th July.

Bring your popcorn!
