Is It Olivia Rodrigo's Real Drivers License Photo On Her Merch?
"It’s not my real drivers license because, fun fact, I look really bad on my drivers license picture." Olivia Rodrigo says.

Actress Olivia Rodrigo at the World premiere of Disney's 'Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil' held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, USA on September 30, 2019.
On January 8, Olivia Rodrigo announced to fans that her "drivers license" merch has been restocked. On a T-shirt merch, however, is a photo of Olivia's driver's license, and fans are questioning if it's real.
Let's rewind.
For those who don't know, Olivia recently released her new single "drivers licence." It quickly trended on social media, and Charli D'amelio has since posted a TikTok dance to it, Taylor Swift had reacted to it, and Sophie Turner and the Jonas Brothers have reposted it to their Instagram Stories.
In a YouTube Livestream, Olivia talks about her merch, specifically the ones with her "driver's license" printed on the T-shirts, and whether it's really her official driver's license photo.
When asked about it, Olivia says that it's not her "real" driver's license photo because she "looked really bad" on her actual driver's license.
I "It’s not my real driver's license because, fun fact, I look really bad on my drivers license picture."
Olivia then tells fans about the day she took the photo for her driver's license. She reveals that she was "late" to the appointment and only found out at that time that her photo was going to be taken for the license.
I "I didn’t know that they were taking the picture the day that you had the permit. I thought that it was the day that you passed your test."
I "So I just rolled out of bed [and] we were actually late to the appointment. I didn’t brush my hair and I looked a little bit rough."
Does Olivia have any tips on getting a driver's license?
In the same YouTube Livestream, a fan asks Olivia for tips on getting a driver's license. Olivia quickly rolls out her top tips and tricks for passing the test, telling the fan to watch "a ton of dashcam videos".
I "Watch dash cam videos, first of all. Just watch a ton of dashcam videos."
Olivia then reminds fans that the permit test is "harder than some people think". She reveals to fans that she worked extremely hard on that particular test, explaining that she "overstudied" for it because she didn't want to fail.
She also suggests downloading some apps to help with the studying.
I "Also, study for your permit test. It’s kind of harder than some people think. I way overstudied for it. I went through the entire like, 100-page DMV syllabus because I was like, ‘I am not failing my permit test."
I "But there’s also an app. [...] There’s some apps that will quiz you and give you the questions from past exams. So that helps."
Unfortunately, Olivia encountered a problem on the day of her first driver's test. Her mom's car that she had brought to take the test in had a faulty horn, which meant she couldn't take the test on the day.
I "I didn’t technically pass on my first try. [...] The first time I tried to take my drivers test, I flew from Salt Lake City to LA solely for the purpose of taking this test."
I "[...] And we get to the DMV in my mom’s car. I didn’t have my car yet. And the [...] guy comes out and he’s checking my blinkers, checking to see if my brakes work, and everything works."
I "And he’s like, 'honk the horn'. And I honk the horn and the horn didn’t work. And they were like, ‘Oh, you’re unfit to take this test. Your car’s unsafe, you have to go home. And I cried in the DMV parking lot."
Fortunately for Olivia, she passed on her next try. Not only that, but she received only "one infraction".
I "But the second time I took it which was the time I actually got to take the test, I passed. I got one infraction, I’m very proud of myself. You can get like 7 or something."
Olivia adds that she "went through hell and back" for her driver's license, but believed it was the "universe" holding her back so that she could write "drivers license" at exactly the right moment in time.
I "[...] I went through hell and back trying to get my driver's license. Which I think [...] was the universe being [...] ‘You’re not ready to write this song. We’re going to hold off on giving you your driver's license [...] and then once you get your driver's license you can write the song that you really like."
At the time of writing, "drivers license" has over 6.9 million views on YouTube.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' season 2 is currently filming. The season will centre around a Beauty and the Beast musical production.
