On 21 September, Enola Holmes' Louis Partridge (Tewkesbury) revealed that fans ask him to homecoming, though he can't attend as they rarely leave a date or time!
For those who don't know, Louis began his rise to fame when he was cast as Tewkesbury in Netflix's Enola Holmes alongside co-star Millie Bobby Brown. Enola Holmes quickly became a massive success, coming in 7th on Business Insider's Biggest Netflix Original Movies Of All Time with 77 million viewers.
Fast forward, and on 21 September, Louis reveals how several fans have requested him to be their Homecoming date, citing the amount as "insane".
I "It’s insane, the amount of people that send those things in the post, like the cards that say, 'Will you be [my Homecoming?]'"
However, to Louis' bemusement, rarely anyone leaves a date or time, which means Louis is unable to even respond!
I "Also, you don’t send a thing so I can’t even reply. You don’t send a date or a time."
I "Not that I would fly out to like, I don’t know, they always seem to be in Texas, but like at least send a date and a time so if I do I have [time]. (Laughs) I’m joking."
Louis then adds how in the UK there aren't many formal events for secondary school students to look forward to, unlike USA high schools.
I "But that’s a big thing in America that we don't really have here the whole Homecoming bulls, prom, all of that stuff. Doesn’t really happen here. You just have a big p*ss up."
For context, Louis is referring to how American high schools have several different formal events during the course of the school years, such as Homecoming, Winter Formal, Senior Party, etc. However, in UK, there is only one formal dance at the end of their last year; prom.
In a fun article, Buzzfeed highlights the differences between UK and American high school proms as seen in movies.
So, what are the chances Louis Partridge will actually go to Homecoming or a prom with a fan?
In the past, celebrities have been known to attend a few lucky fans' proms. For example, Kylie Jenner in 2017, Taylor Swift in 2008 and Vanessa Hudgens in 2014, to name a few. Not only that, but celebrities have also gatecrashed proms before, such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez!
To read the full list, Cosmopolitan has gather the names and dates of 36 celebrities who accepted their fans' invitations.
The only thing Louis' fans have to do now is to give a detailed Homecoming invitation!
