On October 13, A Little Late with Lilly Singh's host, Lilly Singh, tweeted out to fans that she had a new YouTube video coming out the next day and a surprising number of fans were shocked.
It turns out that a lot of Lilly's new fans didn't know that Lilly was also a YouTuber. Fans who followed Lilly throughout her career would know that she shot to fame through YouTube as "IISuperwomanII". Her hilarious skits and stories had gained her over 14.9 million subscribers.
But it looks like her YouTuber reputation didn't follow her to the late-night show because when Lilly tweeted out the incoming YouTube video, a lot of fans responded in surprise.
I "Wait, you do youtube?"
I "wait a second... you have a youtube channel???"
I "omg u have a youtube channel?! I never knew"
Some even thought Lilly was just now deciding to join YouTube.
In other news, Lilly tweeted out a cartoon strip of a popular fable on Twitter on October 15, using it to describe "Twitter in a nutshell".
Basically, it describes that no matter how this group (consisting of a man, a woman and a donkey) decides to travel ...
a) walking next to the donkey
b) both riding on the donkey
c) one riding on the donkey
d) both carrying the donkey
...There's always someone who criticises them.
The moral of the story is that you can't please everyone and that there will be always be criticisms no matter what you do. As a result, you should just do what you believe is right.
And an overwhelming number of fans are agreeing with Lilly, with many saying that it also applies to life in general.
Lilly had spoken out about criticisms before, where she reveals to fans that she used to be afraid of not being funny. This might be because Lilly deals mainly in comedy, and humour usually depends on a person's taste.
I “A lot of my life has been, ‘What if I’m scared to be myself? What if people don’t think I’m funny? What if, what if, what if…’”
Despite this, Lilly has since learnt to love herself and to be herself. Her best advice to fans is this:
I "Love yourself show up for your own life don’t be scared to be yourself; you are goddamn beautiful.” - Lilly Singh
A Little Late with Lilly Singh airs every Monday-Thursday on NBC at 1:35 am ET/PT.
