On January 29, Lia Marie Thompson went on Instagram Live, and fans are accusing her boyfriend, Ryan Bowers, of not having Lia's best interests. Tana Mongeau also attempted to reach out to Lia via the comments.

Let's rewind.

 

First of all, Lia first introduced Ryan Bowers as her boyfriend on January 21 on an Instagram Live.

 

Ryan had introduced himself, saying:

 

 

I "I'm Lia's new boyfriend. Hate on me."

Fast forward, and on January 29, Lia is on Instagram Live again with Ryan. Unfortunately, things go down from here. At one point, Lia is on the floor, causing fans to worry about her. Fans quickly flooded the comments, criticizing Ryan for just sitting there, seemingly more interested in being on the livestream.

 

The livestream quickly ends due to audio problems, but after it comes back up, Lia is sitting in front of the camera, smiling. Soon, she asks Ryan, off-screen:

I Lia: "Are you good?"

I Ryan: "Yeah, now that you're not f**king on the floor."

​

I Lia: "Truce. Are you still mad at me?"

​

I Ryan: "No"

​

I Lia: "Swear to God. Don't be mad at me."

​

 

Lia then says that she doesn't want to do the livestream anymore.

I Lia: "I don't really want to do this anymore. I really don't, Ryan."

​

I Ryan: "OK. Well, just let people know you're OK"

​

I Lia: "I'm OK."

​

 

Lia then continues telling fans that she's OK. The conversation soon changes when Lia starts to joke that Ryan was mean to her and telling fans that she would break up with him. However, when Ryan called her on it, Lia quickly said that she didn't want to, revealing that she even restarted the livestream so that Ryan wouldn't break up with her.

I Lia: "You said if I get on to this, then you wouldn't break up with me."

​

I Ryan: "Yeah, cos you were making me look hella bad."

​

 

As the livestream continues, Lia starts to look increasingly tired and unwell. After about 20 minutes, she asks Ryan if they could "turn it off". At this point in the livestream, Lia's hair is frazzled, and her eyes are closed. However, Ryan refuses and continues to focus on the livestream.

I Ryan: "No."

​

I Lia: "Please turn it off." (starts walking off)

​

 

Ryan then pulls Lia back onto his lap, again, saying "come back". At first, Lia complies, leaning against him, but a few seconds later, Lia gets up again, saying:

I "Let's go. Let's go. Let's go."

The Instagram Live then ends.

How did fans react?

 

Altogether, fans accused Ryan of using Lia for clout, and not having her best interests.

Other fans are calling for YouTuber Shane Dawson to create a documentary with Lia, hoping that it would shed light on the situation and bring her some help. However, others pointed out that Shane Dawson was not a "therapist", and that Lia needed "professional help" not "a TV show".

 

In an attempt to help Lia, fans have created the hashtag #saveliamariejohnson.

 

 

YouTuber Tana Mongeau also attempted to reach out to Lia during the Instagram Live.

 

Meanwhile, Tana Mongeau went on Lia's livestream, and repeatedly asked Lia to DM her in a series of messages.

Tana has been aware of Lia's situation for a while now and had previously tweeted out, asking fans, "how do we help lia marie johnson :(" back on January 20.
