On February 5, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You star, Lana Condor (Lara Jean) uploaded her first YouTube video titled "Everyday Make Up Tutorial" where she revealed that she's been constantly asked whether her lips are real or fake.
Let's rewind.
Lana has been teasing the new YouTube video for a while, and now it has finally been released. The video is titled, "My Everyday Make Up Tutorial | Lana Condor" and was the most requested video on all of Lana's social media platforms.
The 12:39 minutes video shows Lana explaining to fans what she puts on for her everyday makeup, and fans can't help but fall in love with how relatable she is!
First, she starts with a fresh, bared face and moisturizes before applying an SPF 15 CC cream to her face.
Lana explains:
I "I typically like to use a CC cream because I think that it's kinda like having lotion on your face instead of like, a foundation that sucks the moisture out of your face."
However, she adds that she will use foundation if she's "working".
And what are her tips on applying foundation? To also use it on your neck, too!
I "Let's talk foundation. Bring it down your neck, don't forget. You don't want to be caught when your neck looks like a different colour, and your mom's like, 'What did you do to this part of your body!'"
Next, Lana moves on to her eyes, where she "spills some tea" about herself.
I "OK, here's the tea. My eyelids are very small. And I love that about myself. If you have eyelids like mine, sometimes it's hard to have eyeshadow show because I have small lids."
However, Lana also has a tip for this. And that comes in the form of "windshield wiper motions".
I "You want to use small circles in windshield wipers motion and build the crease. That is the most important part if you have small eyelids like me. You want to build the crease like this, boom, boom, boom, and kind of work at it."
Lana explains that she spends the most time working on her "creases" and the way she does it is to go almost "too high", which she finds works for her.
I "I almost go too high, but it's what works for me. I mean, every eye shape is different. [...] I go almost up to the fricking eyebrows, and then I'm like, that's enough."
She then pops on some "shimmer" onto her eyelids, not caring if it's a "chill day".
I "I don't care if it's a relaxed, chill day, going to buy groceries... If I'm gonna wear makeup, I'm gonna have shimmery eyes. I don't know what to tell ya, I just love shimmer. I think that's so freaking pretty [...] boom, shimmer on."
She reveals to fans that she loves "autumn tones" and prefers to look like a "damn sunset" or a "sherbet".
Moving on to the eyeliner, Lana explains that she prefers "really thin baby wings" as opposed to the "really thick ones". And for the eyebrows, which to Lana, "is the death of me", she does "small short strokes" so that the eyebrows won't come off as "too intense".
Next, she follows up with a concealer, then a very light bronzer, an intense blush (because her face apparently "eats" it) and then a highlighter.
Finally, she moves onto the lips which she lines first. Oh, and spills some more tea.
I "I get a lot of questions about whether my lips are real or if I have fillers on my lips. My lips are indeed real. I've never "touched", I would never, you guys. You heard it here first. My mom would kill me if I did."
Lana then reveals that she doesn't like "nude" lips and prefer a little bit more color on her lips.
I "I love lips that look like they've just been kissed, or you just had a glass of wine."
Afterwards, she finishes off with a setting spray and then a rehydrating spray.
She wraps up the YouTube video by saying:
I "It was really fun. I love makeup so it was really cool to finally be able to tell you guys about it. Do what works for you. There is no right answer. Makeup is supposed to be awesome and fun, and there are trial and error to everything you do."
Fun fact: At the time of writing, Lana currently has over 28,500 subscribers on YouTube.
To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You will debut on Netflix on February 12.
