It's been confirmed that Andi Mack's Joshua Rush (Cyrus) is dating Lauren Holdt!
It's unsure how long they've been dating, but on October 30, 2020, Lauren posted a TikTok video where she confirms she is dating Joshua.
The TikTok caption reads:
I "me at 18 feeling 100% comfortable & connected to my bestfriend & boyfriend"
In the video, she hugs her best friend and then kisses Joshua Rush.
Fun fact: Lauren Holdt starred as Theo Doran in City of Salt (2020).
On the same day, Joshua uploaded a TikTok video of him kissing Lauren to the song, "Electric Love". At the time of writing, the TikTok video received over 214,000 likes.
How did fans react?
The majority of fans are happy for Joshua and Lauren with some fans even jokingly referencing Joshua's character, Cyrus in Disney Channel's Andi Mack, in which Cyrus is in a relationship with TJ (Luke Mullen).
I "so who is gonna tell TJ?? 😳 😳 😳"
To which Joshua's girlfriend, Lauren, replied:
I "uhhhhhh not me"
Fun Fact: Joshua's character, Cyrus, is Disney Channel's first openly gay character.
However, some fans were initially confused as they had mistakenly believed Joshua was gay, when in fact, Joshua had come out as bisexual on August 6, 2019.
In response to the confusion, Joshua replied
I "@laurenholdt and i both listen to sweater weather 🥺"
Lauren later clarified:
I "yeah i like women and men 😔"
For context, listening to the song Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood is a "code" for identifying fellow bisexuals.
Is Joshua Rush and Lauren Holdt still dating?

On January 9, Joshua tweeted out to fans:
I "lauren thinks i dress like an investment banker😐"
He then added:
I "tragically she’s not wrong 😐"
The next week, on January 16, Joshua revealed a screenshot of their DMs, stating that his communication with Lauren is "breaking down" after not seeing each other for two days:
On January 19, Joshua tweeted out a picture of the two of them wearing masks.
And then on January 21, Joshua reveals that Lauren had a dream that he "cheated on her" which ended up with Joshua apologizing to her in real life!
I "my gf dreamt that i cheated on her. woke up and immediately had to start apologizing to her for something i didn’t do??"
Fun fact: Joshua Rush’s hand made a cameo on Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license”. Fans can see his hand in the projections on Olivia’s back shoulder.
