On January 30, Deadline announced that United Talent Agency (UTA) signed High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' Joshua Basset (Ricky). And this just happens to be the same entertainment company that co-star, Sofia Wylie (Gina), is signed to!
Let's rewind.
Deadline broke the exclusive news in an article which Joshua retweeted along with this:
I "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The next day, co-star Sofia Wylie welcomed him to the "family":
I "Welcome to fam!! #UTA 😃"
For those who don't know, UTA is a talent and entertainment company that was founded in 1991. UTA had signed Sofia back on June 20, 2019, four months after it was announced that Sofia would be joining the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Back in the early 2000s, UTA represented stars such as Night at the Museum's Ben Stiller (Larry), The Mask's Jim Carrey, director M. Night Shyamalan and, up until 2016, Pirates of the Caribbean's Johnny Depp.
TikTok star, Charli D'Amelio, is also currently signed with UTA.
In other news, Joshua has written yet another original song called, "Do it all again", which he uploaded to Instagram.
Meanwhile, Sofia uploaded a throwback video to her early days on the set of Disney's Andi Mack.
Check out Sofia's tweet below:
I "This seems like it was yesterday! Im realizing as I go through old videos that literally grew up on a set! Back then things were always fun and exciting. Everyone knew we were young and they made work into our time to play! I haven’t lost that and I hope I never will 😃"
In the video, the cast of Andi Mack is on the set of their fictional school. Fans can see Sofia carrying a boom mic, Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi) sitting behind one of the cameras, and Joshua Rush (Cyrus) sitting on what looks like the director's chair while speaking through a walkie-talkie.
Fans can check out the clip here.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has been renewed for a second season.
