Today, on 13 October, Beauty YouTuber James Charles announced on Twitter that he has just officially started watching HBO’s Game of Thrones. Quickly, fans are flooding his comments section with advice.
Check out James’ tweet below:
I "I’ve officially started Game Of Thrones. I know I’m late but I’m loving it so far!"
(Game of Thrones first aired on April 17, 2011, and the last episode aired on May 19, 2019).
Fans quickly swarmed the comment section with advice, varying from "don't get attached to anyone" to telling James to "pay attention to the intros". Then there are those who are being protective of James and warning others not to reveal any spoilers or they will "sister-stab" them.
Altogether, fans seem excited with the prospect of James watching the popular HBO series, and some are even hoping that James might upload a make-up inspired look of a Game of Thrones' character in the near future. One fan even specifically asked for a Cersei inspired look.
However, an overwhelming majority of fans are warning James to expect disappointment. These fans are referring to the last season of Game of Thrones (season 8) - the season that was rated to be the worst season by many fans. Some fans are even advising James to simply skip watching the entire last season.
Games of Thrones season 8 received 58% on Rotten Tomatoes, a far cry from its 90-97% past seasons' predecessors.
The critics' consensus was equally damning, with it reporting this about the final season:
I "Game of Thrones' final season shortchanges the women of Westeros, sacrificing satisfying character arcs for spectacular set-pieces in its mad dash to the finish line."
A petition was even created by fans, titled: "Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers". It has since reached over 1.7 million signatures.
