It Chapter Two star, Jack Dylan Grazer (Eddie Kaspbrak), finally updates fans on "V Team 2", and unfortunately, it's not good news. After months of hype, Jack finally took to Instagram Live to say that it's been called off.
What exactly is V Team 2?
Basically, it all started from the filming of It Chapter One (2017). When the young cast members met for the first time, they instantly bonded.
So much, in fact, that Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard (Richie Tozier) and Chosen Jacobs (Mike Hanlon) decided to make a video together.
On April 15, Jack uploaded a short 5 minutes long video on his YouTube channel 'Jack Grazer', titled "(Official Release) V Team mp1)".
I "this video is definitely a major throwback and it means a lot to me.” - Jack Dylan Grazer (video description).
The video (which already has over 819,000 views) features them hilariously goofing around, accompanied by amusing cartoon music in the background. Jack's character is 'Devon Quubse', Finn's character is 'Brooke Dennis Weegie', and Chosen is 'Billy Bob Boux Jomns'.
In between Jack spitting water in Finn’s hair and Finn riding on Jack’s back, they gave speeches such as “be good and don’t eat meat” and “keep your planet clean”.
Fans absolutely loved the video, and many commented on how great their chemistry was. It was fantastic to see best friends in a movie being best friends in real life too. And now with this video giving a glimpse into their friendship, fans kept clamouring the star for a part 2.
It Chapter Two (2019) and 'V Team' Part 2?
When It Chapter Two (2019) began filming, fans were excited that the group was going to be together again. Many even speculated that this would even lead to a part 2 being released.
And it turned out that fans were right!
Because on May 6, 2019, Jack released a short 28 seconds clip on his YouTube Channel with the video title ‘Teaser (VT2)’. He wrote in the description:
I “The moment you’ve all been waiting for. We come unannounced. You’ll just have to wait. Highly anticipated…’
The video featured Jack and Finn with their backs to their camera, walking next to each other and the video ends as they both turned to look at the camera.
And of course, fans freaked out.
I “I can't wait v team is literally the most hilarious series.”
I “I've been waiting for this for so long😂.”
I “The best 28 seconds of my life, omg I love V team.”
However, months passed with no more updates. Until finally, Jack announced on his Instagram Live that it was no longer coming. In response to a fan asking for an update on 'V Team 2’, Jack responded with this:
I "I did a teaser. Kind of an accident. I’m editing still kind of - well not anymore I give up. [...] I was editing ‘V Team 2’ and [realised] that it’s not that good. Like it’s funny, but I want it to be like nostalgic and reminiscent of the first one."
Unfortunately, it seems that Jack couldn’t get the same nostalgic feeling of the first 'V Team' video. But maybe Jack will decide to release a small snippet of what he’s edited so far?
In the meantime, It Chapter Two (2019) is in US theatres now.
