On January 5, Jake Paul slammed comedian Joey CoCo Diaz and everyone else who implied that he was "gay". Fans, however, pointed out that it was all just a "joke".
First of all, fans will already know that YouTube power couple, Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul, broke up after just five months of "marriage". However, it was later revealed that the marriage wasn't legally binding, although Tana defended their relationship as being "real". This had caused controversy as a lot of fans believed they had arranged a fake marriage to gain "views".
Fast forward to January 4, New York Post tweeted out an article titled, "Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau announce breakup — but were they ever really together?"
However, comedian Joey CoCo Diaz later retweeted the article, as well as adding:
I "Sure they broke up..... that guy* with the hat has sucked more c**k than her."
*Note: In the picture, Jake is wearing a hat.
Anyway, Jake saw this tweet and slammed it, saying:
I "this is getting ridiculous. my brother didn't even suck a d**k and now all the sudden it was me. smh."
For those who don't know, Jake is referring to the recent controversy in December where there was supposedly a "leaked video" of Jake's brother, Logan Paul, being intimate with another male friend back in 2015.
However, it appears to have been a fake video as Logan addressed the situation by labelling the video as "clickbait".
It's not clear whether Joey had gotten the two brothers mixed up.
How did fans react?
The majority of the reactions can be summed up into one of two reactions. Firstly, there are fans who thought that Joey was just joking. These fans thought Jake was being too defensive, and that he took the tweet too seriously.
Then there are those who thought this whole situation was ridiculous as there are much more pressing matters in the world at the moment, i.e., the Australia fires.
I "bruh it’s a joke lmfao why are you so defensive ;)"
I "To be honest @jakepaul there are a lot worse things going on right now. That’s what we all need to be focused on. My beautiful country of Australia is burning. My home town is non-recognisable. It’s just devastating. C’mon guys!"
