Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard's fans are pointing out that Finn's chosen roles are usually those who are 'bisexual' and in love with his 'best friend'.
Yep.
Fans are actually digging back into Finn's past roles, and they're enthusiastically tweeting out the eerily similar characteristics between each of Finn's characters.
Uh, that is, not only are Finn's characters bisexual, but they're wholeheartedly in love with their best friend.
Check out these fans' tweets below:
I "the art of finn wolfhard playing bisexual boys who are in love with their best friends."
I "finn wolfhard accepting roles where he’s bisexual and in love with his best friend."
I "finn wolfhard exclusively acts bisexual characters and I hope this trend continues for his entire acting career."
Wait. What exactly were these roles? Give us some examples!
Well, the It series? Finn plays Richie Tozier, someone who turned out to be in love with best friend, Eddie Kaspbrak (played by Jack Dylan Grazer).
Who else can remember all the fans' excitement when 'Reddie' (ship name for the pairing of Richie and Eddie) was basically a thing? It has always been a popular pairing since It Chapter One (2017), so for it to be made 'official' was every Reddie fan's dreams.
Next up, there’s The Goldfinch (2019) where Finn plays as Young Boris Pavlikovsky who is in love with best friend, Theodore Decker (Oakes Fegley played Young Theodore).
Who could forget the 'controversial' scene where Finn's character kisses Theodore? Which then led to fans questioning Finn's sexuality? (Read more about it here.)
And finally, there’s Mike Wheeler from Netflix's hit series Stranger Things.
Of course, this role is more questionable than the others since Finn plays Mike Wheeler and he’s dating Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), and there hasn't been any direct evidence of Mike identifying as bisexual.
However, the pairing of Mike (played by Finn) and his best friend, Will (played by Noah Schnapp), is extremely popular with many fans believing that Mike could be secretly in love with Will.
And since things seem to point towards Will being gay, - Will's mother telling his father that WIll was bullied for being "queer" in season 1 and in season 3, an argument between Mike and Will had Mike shouting out, "It's not my fault you don't like girls!"
Anyway, this made fans speculate that there could be a relationship between the two. And if that's the case, and he finally falls in love with his best friend, Will, then, boom. Bisexual character in love with his best friend.
Of course, it's still up for debate. Stranger Things season 3 could go either way. And maybe Mike and Eleven's relationship is too strong to break even if they are long-distanced. Hmm. Is anyone else thinking that season 3's plot might be about young love in long-distance relationships?
Until then, The Goldfinch (2019) is in US theatres now. Ghostbusters (2020) hits US theatres on July 10, 2020, and Stranger Things season 4 is expected to start shooting early next year in January 2020.
