On January 9, YouTuber Gabbie Hanna reveals to fans that she's "done" with makeup and that she's never felt "so beautiful".
In a series of Instagram Stories, Gabbie says that she had felt "so beautiful in the past few months.
I "The last couple of months, [...] I feel so beautiful. Like, I never in my life looked in a reflection and felt as f**king hot as I do like right now these past few months."
She questions whether this is because she loves herself more.
I "And I’m trying to figure out, do I just feel hotter to myself? Like, I’ve always looked the same but I feel hotter because I’m happier and love myself more? Or do I physically look different because I’m happier and love myself more?"
I "And maybe I’m trying a little harder, taking care of myself. It goes hand in hand for sure."
I "But, like, am I pretty because I’m happy? Or am I happy because I’m pretty?"
Gabbie then reveals to fans that she is "done" with makeup". She explains that despite liking how makeup looks on her, she's always "aware of it".
I "I don’t want to wear makeup anymore. I just don’t want to wear it anymore. I’m done with it. Because even though I like how it looks, I’m always so f**king aware of it when it’s on my face."
She explains that when she has makeup on, she can't rub her eyes or relax as she is constantly anxious about messing up her makeup.
I "I feel like I can’t rub my eyes, or relax or rest my head or lie down or hug people. I hate that when I’m wearing makeup, I don’t want to kiss my boyfriend. That’s bullsh**. That’s dumb. I don’t want to hug somebody because I have makeup on my face? I don’t want to f**k up my makeup. I don’t want to get makeup on their shirt."
Finally, Gabbie states that she's not going to wear makeup as often as before, stating that it "inhibits" her life.
She reiterates, however, that she isn't "shaming" makeup and that she will occasionally use mascara or concealer.
I "[Makeup's] inhibiting my life. I’m not shaming makeup, by the way, obviously. But it inhibits my life. I’m done wearing it. I might wear some mascara sometimes but nothing else. Maybe a little bit concealer. You know what I mean."
