On January 14, it was announced that Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard (Mike) has joined YouTuber Matt Watson's (one of the duos in SuperMega) Minecraft SMP server with the first event to start on January 16!
Let's rewind.
For those who don't know, YouTuber Matt Watson has organised an "Epic SMP" where select Twitch streamers are invited to play in a Minecraft server. The first stream is on January 16 at 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST.
The most notable participants include Jacksfilms (Jack Douglass), twomad, CaptainSparklez (Jordan Maron), JustaMinx, Stranger Things' Finn and his older brother, Nick Wolfhard. However, it hasn't been confirmed if Finn will participate this weekend.
Is Nick Wolfhard participating in #EpicSMP?
Due to Matt Watson using a picture of Finn's brother, Nick Wolfhard, instead of Finn when announcing the list of participants, there was some confusion over whether Nick is also joining the Minecraft server.
At the time, Nick also expressed his confusion in a tweet.
I "Wait LOL MATT WHAT is this like randomly generated?"
I "I genuinely don't know whats going on I was never contacted"
Matt quickly cleared up the confusion by confirming that Finn had joined a few days earlier but Nick's picture was accidentally used because both brothers shared the same Twitch channel.
I "Finn joined a few days back! Don’t you guys share a twitch? That’s probably why. Regardless, you’re welcome anytime!"
Nick had then replied:
I "Ohhh I see where the confusion came from now yeah. I was just mainly confused cause it was my name on the pic and not Finn's, thanks man!"
(Nick was later added to the list of participants.)
Fun fact: Nick Wolfhard's Twitch channel "thewolfhard" has over 72.4k followers. Finn also joins the stream when he isn't busy filming.
This isn't the first time Finn has collaborated with Matt Watson or SuperMega. Finn had previously appeared in one of SuperMega's YouTube videos back in November 2017 titled, “COOKING WITH FINN WOLFHARD”.
A year later, Finn appeared alongside Jacksepticeye and Matt Watson in a YouTube video on GameGrumps channel.
Stranger Things season 4 is currently filming. Stranger Things season 1-3 is available to stream on Netflix.
