On January 18, the director of Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) Jason Reitman released a new still from the movie, whilst adding in a joke about Finn Wolfhard's (Trevor's) hair.
Check out Jason's post below:
I "Ghost sighting. Also... Flight Suits. Also... Finn’s hair. Thanks @empiremagazine!"
Finn then reposted it to his officlal Instagram account, saying:
I "LOL @jasonreitman 👻 and guys once we get through the next few months together we are all gonna have an awesome time at the movies. ❤️😷❤️"
To which Jason responded:
I "Early consideration photo for Best Hair Oscar @theacademy"
Of course, fans will know that this isn't the first time Finn had been teased about his hair by his co-stars and fans.
Back in 2019, Finn had fans in an uproar when he showed up at the Addams Family world premiere in Los Angeles with never seen before shoulder-length hair.
Fans quickly drew comparisons with American rock singer The Runaways' Joan Jett.
Then, a few weeks later, Finn abruptly straightened and dyed it brown, prompting his co-stars The Goldfinch's Oakes Fegley, Dog Days' Vanessa Hudgens and Stranger Things' Caleb McLaughlin to leave comments on his post.
Meanwhile, Finn revealed a bit about his character's personality in the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) during a Fanmio Meet & Greet, describing him as a "lonely" teenager who's "longing to make friends".
I "[Trevor's] a teenage boy who I think is a little bit lonely and he’s obsessed with car and longing to make friends.
I "You can see in the trailer that he’s just moved into this town and he’s just started becoming friends with people."
Post-production of Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) took 18 months.
Back in November 2020, Jason revealed that they had been working on post-production since the "summer of 2019", and that people don't realize that this takes much longer than the filming process.
I ""When we think of making movies, we imagine movie sets - Camera operators and electricians and grips. We seldom think of post production. Yet post is the final rewrite and goes inarguably longer than filming."
I ""The team behind Afterlife has been working on [Ghostbusters: Afterlife] since the summer of 2019. [...] We’ve been thinking about the same two hours for 18 months."
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) is set to hit theatres on June 11, 2021.
