In an interview with Netflix, Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) hilariously reveals to fans that he would trust fellow co-star Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) to diffuse a bomb, but not with his Netflix password.
Isn't that the most amusing thing you've ever heard?
But, fans needn't worry too much. It turns out the reason wasn't anything too serious; it was merely about Gaten’s taste in TV series!
According to Finn, Gaten is a serious history buff and is often asking Finn, “Did you see that doc[umentary]?” before launching into a serious explanation of what happened in said documentary.
And Finn, apparently, isn’t always up to hearing about it.
I“I’m just like, yeah dude, it’s really sad, I don’t wanna hear about it right now.”
Finn explains that a lot of history documentaries that Gaten is oh so fond of, is “super sad” so he'd much rather avoid hearing about it.
Even if it is from Gaten, his co-star on Stranger Things for 3 years.
But after revealing that, Finn was probably worried that he was making Gaten out to be a drag, so he quickly tacked in:
I“He’s not as much of a downer as I’m making him out to be. He’s like a sweet puppy dog.”
I“I would trust him with a bomb that he had to diffuse or something because he's trustworthy [...] but not for a Netflix account.”
Basically, Finn's just concerned about how sad his suggestions on Netflix will look if Gaten actually managed to steal his Netflix's password.
Fun Fact: Finn grew up with VHS tapes. Yep, he really is a true 80's kid. He actually watched Star Wars first on VHS tapes and didn't have a DVD player until he was 9 or 10.
Oh, and speaking of watching movies...
Finn reveals that he does occasionally watch animes, and cites his favourites as being Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Akira.
Yes. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood fans will be happy to find out that Finn watched that adaption instead of the first Fullmetal Alchemist (2003-4) adaptation that hadn't faithfully followed the manga. (And true fans will know which one's the best!)
Now let’s talk style. What exactly is Finn's unique style?
Well, Finn currently loves 70s rock clothing and those with a skate culture vibe. Although he does admit that he just wears whatever he thinks “is cool and comfortable”...
...Which includes just throwing on a “t-shirt and gross sweatpants” to walk around!
We love how relatable he is.
But Finn does see a pro in wearing his current style. He believes it makes him more unique since the style isn't really a "thing" anymore. And who wants to look the same as others anyway?
We've got to love individuality.
Stranger Things season 1-3 is available to stream on Netflix, The Goldfinch (2019) and It Chapter Two hits US theatres on September 13 and September 6, respectively.
