On January 10, Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard (Mike) tells a fan that he embarrasses himself "daily".
During a Fanmio Meet and Greet, a fan asked Finn to share some "embarrassing stories". In response, Finn tells the fan that he's "already embarrassed" himself in public often enough that nothing really fazes him anymore.
However, he then goes on to say that he peed his pants in second grade.
I "It’s funny when people say that. I’ve already embarrassed myself so much in public that it’s like nothing to me."
I "One time in the second grade, I peed my pants. That was nice. That was fun. It was awful. That was one."
Finn continues to say that he embarrasses himself "absolutely daily". According to Finn, this tends to happen whenever he talks to someone as the wrong words tends to slip out of his mouth.
I "I almost embarrass myself every time I talk to someone. [It] feels like every time I talk to someone, I say something wrong. And then I’m like, ‘Oh, that was .. that was bad.'
I "So daily. I embarrass myself absolutely daily."
How exactly does Finn prepare for films in regards to his anxiety?
In another video call, a fan asked about how he "prepares for films" considering his anxiety. Finn explains to the fan that he's normally a "wreck for the first few days".
I "Usually, when I travel into a place for the first time, I’m kind of a wreck for the first few days, anxiety-wise. And then I kind of get used to it."
However, if possible, Finn prefers to meet the cast and crew beforehand so that he can get comfortable with everyone.
I "I like to meet everyone beforehand. I like to meet the crew and be comfortable with the director and cast and really bond with them so that I’m really comfortable with everyone."
Despite his anxiety, it doesn't appear as if it transfers to the stage when Finn's playing a song. Finn reveals that although he does sometimes get "really nervous" before a stage, he describes it as a "nervous excitement".
I "I get really nervous before I go on stage. But it’s usually excited, like nervous excitement. I haven’t actually dreaded [a stage for a while]. Sometimes I just get so excited"
I "Usually what happens when I play is I get really excited. There's only been a few ones where I’m like, dreading going on stage. And then I get up and I’m fine."
Fun fact: Finn reveals that if he wasn't famous, he'd do something in the field of psychology where he can speak to people about their mental health.
Stranger Things season 4 is currently filming. Stranger Things season 1-3 is available to stream on Netflix.
