Stranger Things season 3 premiered on Netflix on July 4, and fans worldwide loved it. ...Right? Well, not quite. Because apparently, it just didn't ring the right tune for some fans.
Yep.
Check out these tweets below:
Let's rewind.
When Stranger Things season 3 premiered, there were many positive comments initially. However, it soon came to light that some fans weren't happy with the way Stranger Things season 3 went. Some fans even slammed it for being unrealistic.
So, did Stranger Things already reach its peak in its previous season? Will it all just go downhill from here?
This has happened to a lot of great TV series. As seasons go by, what was originally an amazing TV series, gradually become...
Well, not as great.
For example, CW's The 100 started out strong, with 2.7 million viewers on its premiere night, but it only managed to garner 580,000 viewers in the last episode of season six. ABC's Once Upon A Time also started out strong with 12.9 million viewers in season one but ended season seven with just 2.2 million.
And Games of Thrones? Fans argued that ever since George R.R. Martin, author of the novels, stepped down from writing any script material for HBO after season five...
Well.
The material was never really the same. This was especially the case when the series finally caught up with the book material.
So it seems as if most great TV series follow the same path.
...And could Stranger Things be on the list soon?
Hmm. Maybe not.
Because despite it being poorly received by a lot of fans, Stranger Things season 3 broke Netflix's records. It now holds the record for being watched "more than any other film or series in its first four days".
Check out Netflix's tweet:
Stranger Things even trended on Twitter, with many fans tweeting their praise for the season:
So it looks like it isn't quite the end of the road for Stranger Things just yet.
Not to mention that it is one of the most successful shows on Netflix at the moment, so we're pretty sure Netflix will continue investing in the series to make sure it stays that way.
And on that note, who else is excited for season 4? And when is it?
Well, while there hasn't been an official announcement yet for season 4, we think it's likely that there'll be one.
And if there is, it will most likely premiere between mid to late 2021.
...Who else is excited for it?
