On June 24, The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) revealed that Stranger Things' Caleb McLaughlin's upcoming movie, Concrete Cowboys, will be premiering at its 2020 lineup.
Let's rewind.
Fans will already know that Caleb stars in an upcoming movie, Concrete Cowboys. It focuses on a 15-year-old boy, Cole (Caleb), who moves to live with his estranged father. In North Philadelphia, Cole learns about the local urban cowboys, a place of refuge from the violent and poverty-stricken neighbourhood.
Who stars alongside Stranger Things' Caleb Mclaughlin in Concrete Cowboys (2020)?
Avenger's Idris Elba (Heimdall) stars alongside Caleb as his father, Harp. For those who don't know, Idris is known for roles in prominent movies such as Star Trek Beyond (2016) as Krall/Balthazar Edison, The Jungle Book (2016) as Shere Khan's voice and Pacific Rim (2013) as Stacker Pentecost, amongst numerous others.
Concrete Cowboys is directed by Ricky Staub.
Fun fact: Concrete Cowboys (2020) is based on a novel, Ghetto Cowboy, written by Greg Neri. The novel was inspired by real-life Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club.
When and where will Concrete Cowboys (2020) premiere?
TIFF revealed that Concrete Cowboys will premiere in Toronto. The film festival is set to take place September 10-19, and will "exist as a [sic] both limited physical festival and an online experience".
Due to the virus, however, the lineup had already been reduced to 50 feature films and five short films. In comparison, TIFF had hosted more than 300 films in 2019.
