On February 22, Bella Thorne slammed YouTube for removing her newest music video "Shake It", and accused the platform of censoring women.
Let's rewind.
For those who don't know, Bella recently released a song, "Shake It" on YouTube which features strong sexual content with herself and adult film star Abella Danger in provocative positions.
Fast forward, and Bella claims that YouTube deleted the "Shake It" music video in the early hours of its upload. In an Instagram post, Bella calls out YouTube for their "censorship" against women, stating that male artists have featured similar content with no repercussions.
I "Hey @youtube - why’d you take down my video for Shake It? Is it because I’m having fun with @dangershewrote? Male artists always have women shaking a** in videos... why can’t we? Censorship against women needs to end!!! I’ll never stop fighting against this bull%h*t. Stay tuned. Also Congrats guys, you broke YouTube! 😈😤"
In another Instagram Story, Bella writes the following caption:
I "Check my last post for what YouTube has against women!!!! Not cool YouTube 😠😠🤬🤬"
Meanwhile, Bella has thanked her fans for "breaking YouTube" in their support for her video and adds a screenshot of a broken YouTube page.
I “U guys are breaking YouTube lol”
I “Sorry for the interruption. We have been receiving a large volume of requests from your network.”

I "Damn u guys are breaking Youtube!! AGAIN!!! I love you guys I'm crazy lucky for ur support"
(This isn't the first time Bella's content has been removed. Last month, Bella also slammed Instagram for their "violation rules" after they removed some of her older posts.)
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg also promoted the song by posting the music video in an Instagram post and sharing it on his Instagram story. He also called Bella his "niece" in the post.
However, it was met with instant backlash as many were upset that he posted such risqué content, a move that was very different to his normal posts. (The post has since been deleted).
At the time of writing, Bella's new song "Shake It" has over 461,000 views.
Fun fact: "Shake It" is directed by Bella Thorne. It is produced by Mark Evans and co-written by Dani Thorne, Bella Pendergast and Bella Thorne"
